Applications are invited from eligible Women candidates for filling up the following posts on adhoc basis for the Dept. of Biotechnology funded project entitled “A Multi-Component Intervention to reduce home exposure to second hand smoke (SHS) during pregnancy” – the IMPRESS Study (Interventions for Mothers in Pregnancy to Reduce Exposure to Secondhand Smoke) – under Dr. Prabha S Chandra, Prof. Dept. of Psychiatry and Principal Investigator. The project is a DBT/Medical Research Council, UK funded project for eighteen months. It is a three centre study with NIMHANS, Bengaluru, ARK foundation, Dhaka, Bangladesh; and University of Liverpool. This project involves qualitative formative research in order to develop an intervention to reduce second hand home smoke exposure in pregnancy and a pilot Randomized Controlled trial of the intervention. Data will be collected from community antenatal clinics and anganwadi centers.
