National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) - Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), a premier research Centre carrying out frontier research in the field of Biological Sciences. NCBS has recently initiated a collaborative program of research with the National Institute for Mental Health and Neurosciences and the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine. The goal of this program is to understand the cellular and molecular basis of mental illness in human patients with a long-term goal to develop new therapies. The program involves the generation and analysis of large-scale genomic data sets. We a looking for an individual with bioinformatics experience to develop and implement both existing and novel bioinformatics pipelines.
We are recruiting a Bioinformatician to work on this program. The appointment will be a fixed term position initially for a period of One (1) year that may be extended upto a maximum of three years depending on the performance of the candidate. The position comes with a consolidated pay based on their qualification and experience.
Qualification: Ph.D in a relevant area (Bioinformatics, Computational Biology with experience in Genetic Analysis) from a recognized Institute.
Experience: Two (2) to Three (3) years of experience of Post Doctoral Research Experience and publications. Candidate should be able to develop and implement statistical/computational methods for analyzing data, DNA and RNA sequencing studies.
Desirable: Experience in Algorithm development, scientific programming and machine learning with an interest in Genomics is desirable.
Consolidated Salary: As per institute norms. In deserving cases, salary will not be constraint for candidates with higher qualification and relevant experience.
