Applications are invited for one post of Project Engineer in a DST/EU-Indo New Indigo sponsored project entitled, “Innovative Thermal Energy Storage Systems (INOTES)” at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Kanpur under the supervision of the undersigned.

Name of the Post: Project Engineer

Salary Range: Rs. 22000-2200-44000 per month consolidated. The position is temporary and the appointment will be made for one year (extendable to three years based on performance).

Minimum Qualification: M. Tech. or B. Tech. + 3 yrs of experience of experience

Desired Skills: 
i) Well-versed in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, melting/solidification, energy storage, CFD, modeling and simulation. 
ii) Conversant with experimental analysis; setup design, performing experiments (taking measurements), data analysis. 
iii) Experiments with particle image velocimetry (PIV) equipment will be an added advantage. Good report writing skills.

Job Profile, Educational Qualification and Experience required for the posts sought to be filled up :

  1. NAME OF POST

Deputy General Manager / Deputy. Chief Engineer (Construction)

  1. JOB DESCRIPTION

Will be required to handle all matters relating to supervision of construction of piles, piers, segmental viaducts, PEB structure, ROBs and any other structure including safety during construction and qualify. DGM will be required to interface with all agencies at site viz. detailed design consultant, general engineering consultant, agencies involved in utility diversions and civil contractors. He will also coordinate integration of civil structure to be constructed with the system works.

III. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

B.E. / B. Tech. /Equivalent (Civil)


IV. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Minimum 15 years post qualification experience out of which atleast 5 years hands on experience in construction of viaduct, bridges, multi storied building, work shop shades etc. Candidates having previous experience in Metro Rail viaduct construction would be preferred.

V. AGE: The maximum age limit for the post of DGM /Deputy Chief Engineer 50 years as on 01.09.2014
