National Centre for Biological Sciences - Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Centre (TIFR), a premier research Centre carrying out frontier research in the Biological Sciences has setup a facility for the development and application of Mass Spectrometry (MS) technology for research related to lipids in Biological Systems.

The candidate should be B.Tech/M.Sc in chemistry/ Bio-chemistry/Life Sciences with 1-2 years essential experience in Analytical Chemistry, Mass Spectrometry or Liquid Chromatography. He / She should have good analytical skills and willing to work in a team. Candidates with hands on experience in mass Spectrometry based small molecule analysis (Sample preparation, acquisition and interpretation of data and quantititative estimation) using LC-MS/MS are preferable.

The selected candidates will be required to join immediately. In deserving cases salary will not be constraint for candidates with higher qualification and relevant experience. The Institute reserves the right to relax the age, qualification and experience at its discretion.

Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre

Applications are invited for engagement of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre, Department of Atomic Energy, Kolkata in the field of ((Effect of irradiation in structural materials" purely on temporary basis. The tenure of the fellowship may be maximum of five years. The JRF joined on selection will be eligible for registration in the Ph.D. programme of Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI, deemed to be University), subject to fulfillment of HBNI norms.

Essential Qualification: First Class M.Tech in Metallurgy/Materials Science/Nano Science and Technology/Mechanical Engineering from any recognized University/Institute. (The candidate must be a B.Tech or M.Sc. in Physics/Applied Physics prior to M.Tech. and must have qualified GATE for entry into the M.Tech. course.) 

Fellowship: A fellowship for an amount of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty-five thousand only) p.m. for the first two years and Rs.28,000/- (Rupee~ Twenty-eight thousand only) p.m. for the rest, plus HRA (if hostel accommodation is not provided) and other facilities as admissible as per the Institution's rules. He/she will also be entitled to a Contingency Grant of Rs. 32,000/- (Rupees Thirty-two thousand only) per annum.
